    Teacher's Welcome ReceptionInvitation Only

    Saturday, April 1, 2023 · from 7pm

Information distributed by email to CLRG registrants. RSVP required.

The social programme for ORnC2023 has been thoughtfully designed to bring together dancers, teachers, and families from across the global Irish dance community. These gatherings offer a welcome opportunity to relax, reconnect, and celebrate the shared passion that brings everyone to Montreal. From intimate receptions to larger celebratory events, each gathering is planned with care to complement the competitive schedule. Attendees can look forward to warm hospitality, meaningful interactions, and a chance to experience the city's unique cultural atmosphere. These moments off the competition floor often become some of the most cherished memories of the entire championship week.

One of the highlights of the social calendar is the Teacher's Welcome Reception, an invitation-only gathering that sets a gracious tone for the days ahead. This exclusive event provides a relaxed setting for registered teachers and adjudicators to meet, share insights, and build connections before the intensity of competition begins. Information regarding this reception has been distributed directly to those registered with An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha, and attendance requires an RSVP. It is a fitting start to the championship, honouring the educators and officials whose dedication makes events like ORnC2023 possible.

Beyond the official receptions, the championship offers numerous informal opportunities for community bonding throughout the week. Families and friends can explore the vibrant neighbourhoods of Montreal together, discovering local cuisine, cultural landmarks, and welcoming gathering spots. These shared experiences strengthen the sense of unity that defines the Irish dance world. The organising committee encourages all attendees to take advantage of these moments, stepping away from the competition floor to enjoy the broader experience of being part of an international gathering. After all, the friendships formed here often last long after the medals have been awarded.

Montreal itself provides a stunning backdrop for the social events surrounding ORnC2023. Known for its rich cultural heritage and warm hospitality, the city offers an inviting environment for visitors from around the world. The championship's social programme is designed to reflect this spirit, creating spaces where dancers of all ages and levels can connect outside of competition. Whether through organised gatherings or spontaneous meetups, the goal is to foster a welcoming atmosphere that celebrates both the art of Irish dance and the global community it has built. These social moments are an integral part of what makes the world championships such a memorable experience.
